Miscellaneous

Since copper is a conductor we don’t recommend serving HOT beverages since the lip of the mug can get quite hot depending on the temperature of the beverage. Warm and cold beverages are ideal for use with a copper mug.

While there are a number of options for cocktails, including glass, copper is the cocktail-cup royalty when it comes to the mule. Not only is it perfectly suited to keep the temp of your chilly, bubbly Moscow Mule, but copper is a natural substance and is highly durable to everyday impacts and the inevitable effects of time. Ultimately, its conductivity makes it an ideal choice for cold beverages with complex combinations of flavors–like the Moscow Mule!

A Moscow Mule does not have to be in a copper mug–that is, unless you want to do it right. A true Moscow Mule will come in a copper mug not only because it was originally served this way, but also because the temperature-conserving properties and other qualities of copper enhance the bubbly, spicy, refreshing experience of a Moscow Mule.

They are made of copper, which is a great conductor of heat. This means that the drink inside will stay cold longer. This temperature maintenance is especially beneficial to keeping balance between flavors of a cocktail when there is a carbonated beverage and complex flavors (spicy, citrus) involved–as in a Moscow Mule.

You should look for a mug that is indeed made of copper. 100% copper, to be exact. The handle should be securely affixed to the container. We recommend going with a mug which has been finished with a food safe lacquer, too. The finish, smooth or hammered, is up to you. That said, the hammered finish is more traditional especially for a Moscow Mule, and some say that it enhances copper’s ability to keep your drink nice and chilly.

Black spots are a natural result of the handcrafted process. These occur during hammering and shaping, adding character to your mug. They’re not defects but signs of authentic craftsmanship.

Copper naturally develops a patina over time due to oxidation. This discoloration enhances its charm and proves its authenticity. If you prefer a shiny look, regular polishing can restore its original finish.

No. Natural imperfections like pits and spots are a part of the artisanal process. However, if there’s a true defect, such as a structural issue, our team is here to help. Reach out, and we’ll make it right.
